Welcome to Avon PTO

The AHS PTO Board is very excited about the upcoming 2018-19 school year. We invite you to join us in fulfilling our mission to enhance and enrich Avon High School students’ four-year experience through quality programming and community engagement.

PTO membership can take many forms: providing financial support, attending meetings, and/or volunteering to help with or lead a program or event.

Even before the first day of this school year, the PTO was hard at work supporting AHS’s signature event, GO Avon. On Monday, August 27th, incoming freshmen and transfer students were welcomed to Avon High School in style at GO Avon, an exciting orientation program launched 4 years ago that changes the way we introduce students to AHS. This event is made possible every year with the help from the PTO and many AHS upperclassmen.

The Avon High School PTO Mission is…

to work with AHS parents, guardians, faculty and staff to enhance the experience of AHS students by providing quality, enriching educational programs; creating open lines of communication; and facilitating the involvement of all parties in the planning and execution of school programs and events. The organization strives to:

  • encourage an exchange of ideas and information among educators, parents/guardians, and students through meetings, print and e-communications, and events.
  • promote interest and awareness of the AHS curriculum, facilities, staff, and community through regular meetings and communications.
  • raise funds to financially support programs, resources, services, and equipment (not covered by the Board of Education budget) that enrich students’ school experience.

The AHS PTO is administered by an executive committee and all of its meetings are open to the public. Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to attend meetings to share ideas, suggestions and/or concerns. All money raised by the PTO is invested in school programs and resources.

Connect with AHS PTO and AHS Parents with Konstella!

Konstella is a communication channel for parents of school-aged children. This website/app allows parents to efficiently reach other parents and participate in school-wide discussions and activities. Avon High School PTO will have a secure site that can only be accessed by verified members of our school community. Konstella acts as an electronic directory through your phone. You will easily have directory information at your fingertips on your smartphone or tablet as well as on your home computer (there will be no paper directory produced this year).

Project Graduation

Project Graduation is an alcohol- and drug-free all-night graduation celebration for our high school seniors and is modeled after a national initiative.  The mission of Project Graduation is to save young lives by providing a safe celebration on graduation night.

Project Graduation is more than a one-night event… it’s a time for parents, our schools, local businesses and our community to come together to create a caring and supportive environment for our seniors. It takes many, many volunteers countless hours to plan and run this fun-filled evening. Parents of both seniors and underclassmen are strongly encouraged to get involved. We need the support of our whole school community, especially since families with seniors are very busy on graduation day.

If you have a little time or a lot and would like to help out, there are a variety of ways that you can assist. Please reach out to the Project Graduation chair or any of the committee chairs to be a part of this fabulous event!

Staff Appreciation Luncheon ~ prepare/donate and/or serve food to AHS staff on designated luncheon dates

Project Graduation ~ plan and host the graduation night substance-free party; there are many ways to help throughout the planning process and the night of the event.  Parents of underclassmen are especially needed!!

CARE Committee ~ assist AHS families who need help with meals, errands, rides, etc., as needed.

Gardening Committee ~ work on beautifying and maintaining the grounds at AHS.

On-Call Volunteers ~ opportunity to help with programs and events not yet identified or when extra help is needed.
