Dear Parents, Staff and Concerned Citizens:
I hope this message finds you well after experiencing an enjoyable weekend.
The purpose of this communication is to make you aware of individuals who may be approaching residents in our community and attempting to sell them “academic” books and children’s computer software that they claim would contribute to children’s success in our schools. These individuals are misrepresenting themselves as being affiliated with the Avon Public Schools and/or the Town of Avon. Similar reports have been received and communicated within Regional School District #10 serving the towns of Harwinton and Burlington.
Please know that neither the Town of Avon nor the Avon Public Schools have sanctioned this activity. This is a scam.
If you are approached by any individual representing himself/herself as described above, please notify the Avon Police. If possible, please take note of any information (description of individual, model and make of any vehicle, license plate, etc.) that may assist the Avon Police to investigate this situation.
