Friends of Avon Music Education

FAME was founded in 1996 by a group of parents who were interested in supporting the AHS music program. Through the efforts of FAME money has been provided to purchase new instruments, risers, recording equipment, amplifiers, concert attire, sectional instrumental instruction, and visiting clinicians to the school. FAME also hosts post-concert receptions, and sponsors monetary scholarships to selected graduating seniors who have demonstrated excellence in their musical pursuits. In addition, for the past several years, Avon High School has been chosen to host the CT Northern Region Music Festival Auditions, and with the help of our many FAME volunteers has helped make this busy event run smoothly and successfully.

Membership in FAME is open to anyone interested in helping us support our school music programs. We generally meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:15 PM in the AHS Choir Room.  Meetings are also posted on the AHS Daily Bulletins.
